DAY 05: ADELAIDE

Adelaide Highlights with McLaren Vale Wine Tasting and Coast

This full-day small group tour featuring some of Adelaide’s finest experiences, offers a wonderful balance of sightseeing and wine tasting and certainly packs a punch as far as must do highlights when visiting Adelaide.

Start the day with a City Highlights tour including a visit to the iconic Adelaide Oval (events permitting) and pass through the picturesque North Adelaide suburb where you can enjoy the stunning federation architecture and lavish residences. On your way to Hahndorf you will stop at Mount Lofty allowing you to enjoy a spectacular view of the City of Adelaide from the vantage point. With its abundance of boutique shops and eateries, the German village of Hahndorf is an absolute delight. There’s plenty to explore as you wile away over an hour and a half of free time to do whatever you please.

Enjoy your incredibly scenic drive through the beautiful Adelaide Hills on route to the iconic wine tasting region of McLaren Vale. Once in McLaren Vale, we will stop at a couple of wineries for a wine and cheese tasting at their cellar doors.

Later you will be travelling the scenic route so you can admire the Adelaide Coastline as we journey towards the final featured destination of the day – the beautiful seaside suburb of Glenelg before you return to Adelaide.

We suggest: Leave the tour in Glenelg and spend a few leisurely hours enjoying the abundance of shops, restaurants, and, of course, the beach. Pick a spot for dinner and get ready to watch one of the most spectacular sunsets anywhere in the world. *Trams run from Glenelg to Adelaide every 20 minutes.

DAY 06: ADELAIDE – KANGAROO ISLAND

Transfer to Cape Jervis by coach (1 hr 45 minutes ) to take the ferry to Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island (45 minutes).

Getting from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island is easy. It’s a 1 hour 45 minutes drive from Adelaide to Cape Jervis through the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula. (We suggest allowing 2 hours).

Board the ferry to Kangaroo Island. The crossing takes only 45 minutes.

Arrive Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is every nature lover’s dream come true. From some of the best beaches in the world to incredible native animals like kangaroos, sea lions, seals, and koalas, Kangaroo Island is truly nature’s playground. With iconic landmarks like Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch, one can easily spend days being mesmerised by the beauty of the island.

DAY 07: KANGAROO ISLAND – ADELAIDE

Start your tour day later in the morning after a cooked breakfast before heading off on your one day coach tour of the best highlights of Kangaroo Island. Take a guided walk on the beach among a colony of rare and wild Australian sea lions with a National Parks Ranger at Seal Bay Conservation Park. Get up close and see these wild creatures frolic and laze about – a truly amazing and unforgettable experience.  

After a delicious two-course lunch, spend the afternoon at the Flinders Chase National Park. As you travel through the park, keep an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, reptiles, and koalas. See the rugged coastline from walks around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. Remarkable Rocks provide great photographic opportunities, and the Admirals Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal the spectacular rock archway, a natural nursery, and a haven for playful long-nosed fur seals.

Your last visit of the day is to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to feed some kangaroos and get up close to the Kangaroo Island Koalas while listening to the Keeper talk about the cuddly mammals. There is also a possibility that you will see more kangaroos and wallabies on your return to Penneshaw for your return ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide.

DAY 08: ADELAIDE – SYDNEY

Transfer to Adelaide Domestic Airport from your city hotel.

Arrive Sydney and transfer from your Sydney Domestic Airport to your hotel.

Sydney is known all over the world for it’s iconic attractions and brilliant beaches. An ever evolving city, Sydney never ceases to amaze its visitors. Give yourself about 2 – 3 hours and take the time to enjoy the swimming locations, grab a bite at one of the eateries at Bronte Beach or Coogee at the end. Catch your breath and admire the glorious views.

Return to your hotel on own.
